Pocket Build is similar to Minecraft but with a bit less adventure. Instead of having a main character, it's more like one of those “be a god” simulations.

After playing the pack for several hours I can safely say that It feels incomplete. This is not me saying that the pack his horrible, its not, I just feel that it has a lot of work to be done on it. There is a bug with the quests that while irritating to fix, is possible and two years after release, I feel that it is such a major one, that it should be fixed by now.
I'm not going to spend time explaining a full review of the pack, as I don't see a point right now. Overall I would put the pack at 3/5. Interesting idea and I think I know where the creator was trying to go with it, but it felt rather lazy in execution to me. We had some trouble running this on a Dedicated Server. We think we got the problems sorted. Here's what we did:.
Enabled Command Blocks - It wan't clear that this was required. Moved the spawn location up one block and set the gamerule spawnRadius to 0. Dedicated server spawning is slightly different to SP spawning, these changes stops players spawning off the starting position. Moved the command block that replaces the dirt block - It was placed in a chunk that got unloaded after a few minutes. Altering the view-distance may have also worked. Great concept. I love the concept of having an EMC based pack.
However, there are a lot of things that don't work or are poorly done. First off, it's super hard just to get your first piece of dirt.
Once you get it, then you're fine. However, you have to time your jump perfectly and be lucky enough for the dirt to not fly 15 blocks in the wrong direction. (It took me about 15 minutes with at least 30-40 deaths just to get my first dirt) Second, one of the first quests is broken. It is the one involving getting compressed sand and turning it into bone meal. The quest book doesn't recognize the compressed sand, and you can't actually get bone meal the way that you're supposed to (by breaking compressed sand with the philosophers stone). In order to get past this, thanks to a couple people who know some back end stuff, they made a new config file that you need to replace in order to get the compressed sand to bone meal working.
Then I had to do some digging around for this, you need to find the quest book file containing all of the quests and change the item ID to the correct compressed sand (change 'CompressedSand' to 'compressedsand'). Third, there are some simple EMC values that simply don't exist.
The quest book talks about exchanging water and lava buckets in the table. However, only the iron buckets have EMC values, the porcelain buckets that it just had me make don't have EMC values. I hadn't even begun to think about getting to iron yet (explained more in the 4th point). That made it very odd to get obsidian in order to get to the nether for that quest. I was able to get past this because I'm familliar with ProjectE and knew about the setEMC command.
(/projecte setEMC ) I set the EMC for the porcelain buckets along with water and lava version to the same as their iron counter parts and that seemed to be balanced enough. Fourth, there's no clear course that you're supposed to take.
The pack gives a feel and promise of being an expert type pack, but it has so many ways to progress (all being based around EMC somehow) that it makes it feel more like a kitchen sink pack. The quest book suggests that you make a gold farm.
So looking around at some of the recipes, I saw that you can exchange between gold, iron, and diamonds. So, I thought this was how you're supposed to get to iron since you don't need iron for a gold farm. Then later, I was looking at how to get redstone so that I could make a piston for a better gold farm, and I saw that you get it from sifting dust with Ex Nihilo.
However, I also saw that you can get iron dust from sifting dust as well. Simply meaning that I could have gotten to iron sooner.
This made me confused on which path I was supposed to take and how was I supposed to get to iron level. Fifth, there are too many ways to farm EMC. Given that it is a pack based around EMC, I feel like there should be a few small ways to farm some EMC beyond sitting and breaking the dirt block over and over again. The biggest and easiest way that I found (early game) to farm EMC is with trees. Saplings cost the same EMC as one log gives. So as long as you get at least 2 logs from a single tree, you've gained EMC. You can go even further and plant several trees and use the silk worms to get string from the leaves, giving you even more EMC.
Given that you can simply exchange one log for one sapling, you're not going to suffer from the fact that you don't get any saplings from the leaves when you do this. Maybe these ways of farming EMC are semi-intentional due to the fact that you're basically told to make a gold farm in the quest book which will get you a ton of EMC anyway. But it still felt like I was getting away with something when I found that out about the trees. Conclusion: This pack has a great concept and show a lot of potential. However, it was poorly executed. That being said, if the pack author goes and fixes some of the simple things like the compressed sand stuff, it could be better. Along with that, if the concept was taken and the pack redone, I feel like it could be a ton of fun.
I just simply found the bugs, problems, and lack of direction very distracting while playing. I have the problem more specifically for the first time I write so sorry for something I do wrong I have macbook I have bought minecraft and I want to play on my pc skyexchange. But I can not run it Specifically I tried it to run through TechnicLauncher and then also through twitch launcher. After running this mode, it will write to me. This modpack is your average Skyblock Challenge with a few twists. I'm not a fan of the quest line as this modpack is supposed to teach us how to use the mods without having to already know how to use the mods. There's also an issue with the Compressed Sand quest which I'm not a fan of because getting bone meal is completely broken.
Thanks to sifting, going to the nether is completely optional and I would say unnecessary. You are able also to abuse the alchemy system by crafting glass cutters and ender shards together to get a net gain on EMC with little effort and losing nothing. You can also create an extremely fast mining rig on the respawning dirt block at the center that converts the dirt to EMC with a very high efficiency. I played through all the way to Mekanism and was completely lost on what to do and how to use it. The description 'No description' on a quest in the Mekanism line was terribly unhelpful. Just finding a lot of not well thought out things in this modpack. Leaves something to be desired.
Is there a way for me to change the background sky in SkyExchange? I would really like to play this but every time I try.
That background sky just makes me sick to my stomach. Alot may like it but I just hate it. I play for about 5 minutes and have to quit I hate it so much. I tried a resource/texture pack to change it but nothing happens. I tried custom on.
Is there ANYWAY to get rid of that rainbow/sqaure planet daytime and that twinkling ribbon nightime background?

SkyBlock & Prison I understand that this is the 100th time I've announced a reset for this month but let me explain what went wrong. It's quite simple, I tried to reset these servers to 1.13 which is impossible without recoding tons of our plugins. So that idea has been put away for now and we will release the servers as 1.12. SkyBlock will have a competitive side to it with weekly rewards for the best islands as the main new feature. There is, of course, more but that will be announced in the reset post. Prison will have more content next to mining like missions, bosses and any other crazy idea we or you can come up with.
